The Certificate is offered through the Auburn University Office of Professional and Continuing Education (OPCE). OPCE operates under the Division of University Outreach and makes the educational resources of Auburn University available for non-credit education programs and conferences designed to promote lifelong learning, regardless of age, interest, or location. In keeping with this mission, there are no formal admission requirements for this program. However, for this program we do recommend at least two years prior educational experience at college level.

Step 2: Decide which program format you prefer–self-paced or cohort?

The certificate program is available in two formats–either self-paced or cohort.

The self-paced option allows you to work through the courses at your own pace for maximum flexibility and is appropriate for those who work well on their own and those with unpredictable schedules that might make it difficult to work at regular intervals. Self-paced participants can begin the program as soon as registration is completed through Auburn.

The cohort option is appropriate for those who prefer a more structured schedule and more interaction with classmates. The cohort option is paced to cover one class each three weeks with a week break between classes 4 and 5 to complete the program in 6 months. Cohort participants need to email us for a calendar with the next available cohort start and important program dates.  

NOTE: Participants in either option will have a mentor who can answer questions and help guide you through the program. In addition, both formats offer the option for attending the live Capstone Conference at Auburn University or abroad if available.

Step 3: Complete enrollment by registering and paying fees. 

Once you have decided you are ready to enroll, visit the program page on Auburn University’s website (click here). Use the blue “Register Now” button to finalize your registration and pay your program fees directly to Auburn University. The program fees of $4,600 cover all 8 courses, all required course materials, and a printed and digital copy of your certificate from Auburn University. 

Once program fees have been paid, you will be provided access to the program introduction which will provide information about accessing course materials and working through the program. You will also be assigned a mentor who will be able to answer any questions you might have and help with any difficulties. Mentors are also charged with monitoring your progress and offering feedback, support, and encouragement throughout the program. Your mentor will reach out to you shortly after registering.

NOTE: Upon successful completion of your program, Auburn University will provide a digital and printed copy of your certificate.
